Covid Safe Home Delivery from Ofishial Foods

Second wave of Covid 19!!

Not wanting to spread doom and gloom, but it looks like England is heading for some sort of lock down again (at this point in writing some parts are already on restrictions).

First wave of Covid 19.

However here at Ofishial Foods we will keep on delivering our frozen ready meals to your door. In March when the pandemic first hit, we almost doubled our regular sales for our cooked meals. During the first two weeks of ‘lock down’ the phone was ringing non-stop. With new customers and regular ones wanting our ready meals delivered to their door.

Unlike our competitors we kept on taking on new customers throughout, some of our rivals temporarily closed their books for any new customers. Many of our regular customers increased their weekly orders as they were unable to get to the shops or couldn’t get a delivery slot with some of the major supermarkets.

Store cupboard essentials.

As well as delivering our own meals we also provide a service whereas we supply ‘store cupboard essentials’. This even started to prove problematical for us, but we managed to make a ‘ shopping list’ which our customers can order from – this includes cereals, biscuits, cleaning products and the all-important toilet roll (although we did have to limit people to four rolls!). We can also supply fresh fruit – we get it delivered 6 days a week from Pershore Produce – based in the Vale of Evesham.

Driving.

Our drivers take every care possible when delivering, as many of our customers are elderly or vulnerable. During the height of the pandemic we gained many more that fall into the latter category.

The drivers wear a mask and gloves and carry disinfectant on the van. Generally, they deliver to the doorstep, where they knock or ring and then step back and make sure the customer is aware of the delivery. We don’t specify delivery times but we deliver to each area on a certain day of the week. Occasionally our intrepid drivers (Linda and Leanne) have to go into a house as some of our customers are just unable to get to the door, once in a residence we just try to maintain a safe distance for every one’s well-being.

Couriers.

During this period our postal sales also increased as we offer next day delivery nationwide. One poor lady from down south rang up in tears as she only had 6 eggs left in her house, John (one of our Directors) managed to get her order delivered the next day for her.

Have a look at our website to see which areas we cover with our vans. Or give us a call and speak to Debbie (Office Manager) who is always on hand to help with any queries.

During these strange times many of our customers had little or no contact with others and loved to have a little chat when they phone in their order.
